Step 1. Request your data from Spotify
In order to request the right files, please follow the below steps:
- To get started, open the Privacy page on the Spotify website.
- Scroll down to the "Download your data" section.
- Configure the page so it looks like the screenshot below (untick the "Account data" and tick the "Extended streaming history" boxes).
- Press the "Request data" button.
Step 2. Confirm your request
As soon as your request is accepted by Spotify, you'll receive a link to confirm the request in your email. Confirm it, and Spotify will start gathering your data.
Step 3. Turn on Sync streams to prevent a gap in your data
The files you receive from Spotify miss the last couple days of data. You can turn on the Sync streams setting after you have requested your files to make sure you do not miss any data. You can do so in the settings page on the mobile app or use the button below. You can read more about streaming history synchronisation on this page.
Step 4. The waiting game begins...
Grab a cup of coffee or tea, swipe on Swipefy, lay in the pool or touch some grass, while you wait for your data. Gathering your data can take up to 30 days and Spotify will send you an email when it is ready. We know waiting up to 30 days for your data can be a long wait but — trust us — it's worth it.
Step 5. Your data is ready!
Never share your files with others! The data may contain a lot of personal information, depending on what Spotify has sent you.
Oh it looks like your data is ready, let's make it ready for importing by downloading the files! Now it is time to choose, do you want to import via the app or do you want to import via the website?
