stats.fm comes in two separate apps depending on which streaming service you're using. They look similar but they're not interchangeable, so it's worth picking the right one from the start to avoid having to start over or pay twice.
stats.fm is the main app, available on iOS and Android. You sign in with your Spotify account, and once you're in, you can also connect your Apple Music account from inside the app. This is the only setup where a single Plus or Pro subscription covers both Spotify and Apple Music.
stats.am is a separate app available only on iOS. It's for users who only want to track Apple Music and don't have (or want to use) a Spotify account. You sign in directly with Apple Music, but there's no way to add Spotify later — if you want Spotify stats afterwards, you'd need to either delete your stats.am account and start fresh with stats.fm, or create a separate stats.fm account with its own paid subscription.
Which one should I pick?
- If you use both Spotify and Apple Music, or might use both in the future, use stats.fm and connect Apple Music from inside the app after signing in with Spotify. One subscription will cover both.
- If you only use Apple Music and never plan to use Spotify, stats.am is the simpler choice — just keep in mind that if you change your mind later, the migration isn't seamless.
- If you're already on Apple Music but might want to switch to Spotify or use both, you're better off setting up stats.fm from the start.
A note for Android users: Apple Music connection requires an iOS device. Even on stats.fm, if you're on Android, you won't be able to link Apple Music — you'd need to use an iOS device at least once to make that connection. After it's connected, your stats will sync across both platforms.
I already paid for one app and want to switch — can I transfer my subscription?
If you bought Plus or Pro on stats.fm (Spotify) and want to use it on stats.am (Apple Music), or vice versa, transfers aren't possible since they're separate apps with separate accounts. Contact support and we'll see what we can do, but the recommended path going forward is to use stats.fm with both Spotify and Apple Music connected.
