Your top lists are the heart of stats.fm — they show what you've been listening to most across different time periods.
What you can see
- Top tracks — your most-listened-to songs
- Top artists — your most-listened-to artists
- Top genres — the genres you stream the most, calculated from your top artists
Time ranges
By default, your top lists are organized into three time ranges:
- Last 4 weeks — what you've been listening to recently
- Last 6 months — what you've been into for a while
- Lifetime — your all-time favorites
How items are ranked
By default, stats.fm uses Spotify's machine learning to rank your top items. This is the same method other Spotify stats services use, and it considers things like total play time, skipping rate, and listening patterns rather than just raw play counts. The list updates as you listen, so your top items naturally shift over time.
The default machine-learning ranking has known limitations — it sometimes misses items you've actually streamed a lot, and it's limited to the three time ranges above. If you want more accurate top lists based on actual play counts (or time listened), with custom date ranges and longer lists, you'll need to import your streaming history. After importing, you can also sort by play count or by total time listened. Learn more in our Import FAQ.
What about top albums?
Top albums are a Plus/Pro feature and aren't available on the free plan. With Plus/Pro, you get full top album rankings alongside your tracks and artists. See About stats.fm Plus for the full list of Plus/Pro features.
